چکیده

Control charts are widely implemented in firms to establish and maintain statistical control of a process which leads to the improved quality and productivity. Design of control charts requires that the engineer selects a sample size, a sampling frequency and the control limits for the chart. In this paper, a possible combination of design parameters is considered as a decision making unit which is identified by three attributes: hourly expected cost, detection power of the chart and in-control average run length. Optimal design of control charts can be formulated as multiple objective decision making (MODM). The cost function is extended from single to multiple assignable causes because there exist multiple assignable causes in real practice. An algorithm using DEA is applied to solve the MODM model. A numerical example is used to illustrate the algorithm procedure. Finally, sensitivity analysis has been carried out to investigate the robustness of the model Index Terms Control chart design, Data envelopment analysis, X control chart, Multiple-objective decision making (MODM)

A DEA Approach for Solving Multi-Criteria Design of VSI X Control Charts

Control charts are widely applied in industrial practice to maintain manufacturing processes in desired operating conditions. Design of control charts aims at finding the best parameters for the operation of chart. In recent years, it has been revealed that the control charts operating with VSI (variable sampling interval) schemes give better performance than with FSI (fixed sampling interval) ...

Multi-objective Efficient Design of np Control Chart Using Data Envelopment Analysis

Control charts are the most important tools of statistical process control used to discriminate between assignable and common causes of variation and to improve the quality of a process. To design a control chart, three parameters including sample size, sampling interval, and control limits should be determined. The objectives are hourly expected cost, in-control average run length, power of th...

Using MODEA and MODM with Different Risk Measures for Portfolio Optimization

The purpose of this study is to develop portfolio optimization and assets allocation using our proposed models. The study is based on a non-parametric efficiency analysis tool, namely Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Conventional DEA models assume non-negative data for inputs and outputs. However, many of these data take the negative value, therefore we propose the MeanSharp-βRisk (MShβR) model...

A Hybrid Method of DEA and MODM in Grey Environment

DEA Classic models cannot be used for inaccurate and indeterminate data, and it is supposed that the data for all inputs and outputs are accurate and determinate. However, in real life situations uncertainty is more common. This article attempts to get the common weights for Decision-Making Units by developing DEA multi-objective models in the grey environment. First, we compute the privilege o...

Efficient Selection of Design Parameters in Multi-Objective Economic-Statistical Model of Attribute C Control Chart

Control chart is the most well-known chart to monitor the number of nonconformities per inspection unit where each sample consists of constant size. Generally, the design of a control chart requires determination of sample size, sampling interval, and control limits width. Optimally selecting these parameters depends on several process parameters, which have been considered from statistical and...
